Obituary: Gary Dale Barnes, 64, Lyons Station

Gary Dale Barnes, 64, of Lyons Station, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was the owner of Barnes Auto Service and Barnes Fence Company. He was a former employee of Wilson Brothers and Joe Hill Auto Center. He was a member of Rolling Fork Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert and Nancy Barnes; one sister Phyllis Dewitt; and six brothers, Bill Barnes, Bob Barnes, Ken Barnes, Dan Barnes, Donnie Barnes, and Larry Barnes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Jeanie Hardin Barnes; three sons, Jason (Naomi) Barnes, Jimmy (Ami) Barnes and Jarrod (Chrissy) Barnes; one sister, Mary Ann Herron; one brother, Wayne Barnes (Patty); nine grandchildren, Dylan Barnes-Moran, Danielle Barnes, Robbie Barnes-Moran, Chloe Barnes, Brandon Barnes, Lacey Barnes, Shelby Jordan, Kelsey Newton, and Brent Newton.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2015, at the Rolling Fork Christian Church with burial in Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Friday at the Rolling Fork Christian Church.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of the arrangements.
