Payne St. resident reports clothes set on fire after apparent burglary

Thursday, June 11, 2015, 11:49 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department and Bardstown Police fireshieldresponded to the 100 block of Payne Street this morning about 8:45 for a report of a fire in the backyard of a home. The caller reported that someone broke into her home, took some things and then took some clothes outside and set them on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and a police detective was called to investigate the burglary. Firefighters were on the scene for about five minutes.
