Boston woman injured Sunday in 1-car Nelsonville Road crash

Monday, June 15, 2015, 11 a.m. — A Boston woman was injured Sunday evening after she was ejected from her vehicle in a one-car crash on Nelsonville Road.

According to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Brenda L. Downs, 47, of Boston, suffered multiple injuries after she was ejected from her 2000 Buick Century. Downs was traveling south on Nelsonville Road when a front wheel dropped off the roadway. When she overcorrected, the car crossed into the northbound lanes into a ditch and overturned. Downs was ejected through the driver’s side window. According to police Downs was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Boston Fire Department and Nelson County EMS responded to the accident. Downs was transported from the scene to University Hospital.
