Obituary: Mary Ethel Cowherd Porter, 85, Lebanon
Mary Ethel Cowherd Porter, 85, of Lebanon, died Monday, June 15, 2015, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She was born Nov. 27, 1929, in Lebanon. She worked at Mary Immaculate Hospital 
and retired from Community Action Head Start in 2010 after 40 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Fannie Frances Durrett Cowherd; one daughter, Debra Faye Porter; and four brothers, George Cowherd, Harold Cowherd, James Cowherd and Ray Cowherd.
Survivors include her husband, William O’Neal Porter of Lebanon; two daughters, Mary Joyce Porter of Evansville and Sandra Trigg of Lebanon; one son, David K. Porter of Lebanon; one sister, Ruth Ann (Ralph) Williams of Radcliff; one brother, John E. Cowherd of Selma, Ohio; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Petie.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, at the Bosley Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Tommy Calhoun and the Rev. Lawman Chibundi. Burial is in the Ryder Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015, at the funeral home.
The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of the arrangements.
