Obituary: Elizabeth Madelene ‘Betty’ French, 90, of Raywick
Elizabeth Madelene “Betty” French, 90, of Raywick, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, at her home. She was born May 2, 1925, in Raywick. She formerly worked as a supervisor for Gordon Potato Chip Company in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph William and Lucy Ella Bartley Lamkin; two sisters, Mary Irene Lyvers and Mary Margaret Clark; four brothers, William A. Lamkin, Joseph Anthony Lamkin, Thomas Clarence “T.C.” Lamkin and James Michael Lamkin; and one granddaughter, Kayla Renee French.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Roy French; one daughter, Kim Mattingly (Michael) of Raywick; two stepdaughters, Kathy Napier (Chris) of Brooks and Beverly Holton (Tony) of Vandalia, Mich.; two stepsons, Donald French (Retta) of Ligonier, Ind. and Doug French (Kim) of Taylorsville; three brothers, Raymond Payne Lamkin (Orea) of Bowling Green, Louis Andrew Lamkin (Betty) of Louisville and Howard “Doc” Lamkin of Raywick; two grandsons, Troy Manning and Mason Willett of Raywick; and a number of stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick. The Rev. James W. Graf will officiate. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Mattingly Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
