JOSEPH PHILLIP “BUZZIE” CROWE

Joseph Phillip “Buzzie” Crowe III, 68, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Bardstown. He was an employee of Flaget Memorial Hospital, a former employee of the old Colonel Hawks Restaurant, and a member of St. John AME Zion Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Phillip Crowe Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Fred and Virgie Maddox; one stepson, James Greathouse Jr.; and one sister, Elizabeth Knott.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Adams Crowe; two stepchildren, Nathan Greathouse and Brittany Gibson, both of Bardstown; his mother, Lizzie Mae Crowe of Bardstown; four sisters, Charlene Crowe, Mary Ann Crowe, Catherine (Billie) Freeman, and Nancy Crowe, all of Bardstown; five brothers, John Frank (Rosetta) Crowe of Lebanon Junction, Emmanuel (Christine) Crowe, Robert Crowe, and Patrick (Victoria) Crowe, all of Bardstown and Gary (Mary) Crowe of Louisville; one special brother-in-law, Billie Freeman of Bardstown; one granddaughter, Brooklyn Marie Gibson; and several special nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. The Rev. Roscoe M. Linton will officiate.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
