Monday, June 29, 2015, 4 p.m. — Need proof Kentucky Bourbon is booming? Heaven Hill Distilleries has applied to rezone 174 acres of land in the Coxs Creek area for development of new warehouses.
The tracts, owned by William Donald and Mary Margaret Clark, and Mark and Debbie Thompson are located 1.2 miles south of Whitesides Road and 1.7 miles north of KY 509. The rezoning request asks to change the zoning from A-1 Agriculture District to I-2 Heavy Industrial District.
The owners and the distillery have also applied for a condition use permit to allow heavy/hazardous industrial use — warehouse operation — for the operation.
Both applications will be considered by the Joint City-County Planning Commission at a public hearing set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in the Fiscal Court meeting room at the Old Courthouse on Court Square.
Copies of the application may be inspected at the planning commission offices on the second floor of the Old Courthouse.
