Obituary: Joseph Michael Reiter, 48, New Haven

Joseph Michael Reiter, 48, of New Haven, died Saturday, July 4, 2015, at his home in New Haven. he was a member of ST Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church. He was a carpenter by trade who funeral_flowerworked for several local contractors. He was born July 29, 1966 to the late John Walker and Alice Barker Reiter.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Marie “Boogie” Reiter Hagan; two brothers, Steven Reiter and Richard John Reiter; one nephew, Christoper Reeser; his maternal grandparents, Lester and Idea Luesman Barker; and his paternal grandparents, George M. and Lucille O’Bryan Reiter.

He is survived by two daughters, Ellie May Reiter and Emma Grace Reiter, both of New Haven; one son, Jacob Walter Reiter of New Haven; two stepdaughters, Ryley Danielle Blanford and Zoe Olivia Blandford, both of New Haven; three sisters, Pam (Freddy) DeWitt and Michelle (Scott) Weakley, both of New Haven and Linda (Rick) Reeser of Louisville; three brothers, Bobby Joe (Lisa) Reiter of New Haven, Dan (Nori) Reiter of Rineyville and John (Billie Jo) Reiter of Bardstown; the mother of his children, Amanda Blandford of New Haven; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial is in the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Cemetery in New Hope.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015, and 8:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven with 6:30 p.m. prayer service Tuesday.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
