JUDITH ‘JUDY’ WERNER

Judith “Judy” Werner, 66, of Bardstown, died Monday, July 6, 2015, at her home. She was born May 27, 1949, in Louisville. She was a retired teacher for the Nelson County Board of Education. She was active in Nelson County Relay for Life. She was a member of the Humphrey Homemakers and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Acy Werner; one son, Marty Werner; and her father Leslie Leon Berry.

She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly (Danny) McCann of Bardstown; her mother, Dorothy Davis Berry of Bardstown; one sister, Amy (Todd) Bowman of Bardstown; three brothers, Kenny (Pat) Berry of Boston, Richard “Rick” (Margaret) Berry and Jack (Joanie) Berry, both of Bardstown; and three grandchildren, Gavin Hicks, Carson Hicks, and Connor Hicks.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Jason Harris officiating. Burial is in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, and 8:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
