Obituary: Charles Cecil, 67, of LaGrange

Charles Cecil, 67, of LaGrange, died Friday, July 10, 2015, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville. He was born Nov. 22, 1947, in Bardstown. He was retired from Kentucky Department For Family Services and was a member of American Legion and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

funeral_flowerHe was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nancy Cecil; one sister, Shirley Breeden; and one brother-in-law, Paul Gritton.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Cecil; one son, Alex Cecil of LaGrange; two sisters, Barbara “Teeny” Gritton, and Wanda (Shorty) Marksbury all of Bardstown; three brothers, Kenny (Evelyn) Cecil, Donnie (Pat) Cecil, and Bobby (Phyllis) Cecil; one brother-in-law, Tony (Lynette) James of Louisville; his father-in-law, Robert “Weldon” James of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2015, and 9-10:15 a.m. Tuesday at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to International Myeloma Foundation.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
