Obituary: Fannie Lois Brown Hardin, 91, Chaplin
Fannie Lois Brown Hardin, 91, of Chaplin, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, in Oaklawn Health and Rehab Center in Louisville. She was the former Fannie Lois Brown and born March 28, 1924 in Anderson County to the late C.B. and Fannie Stevens Brown. She was a graduate of Kavanaugh High School in Lawrenceburg and Georgetown College. She was a retired employee of the Nelson County Board of Education where she taught at Bloomfield and Eli Brown Elementary. She also served as an assistant principal at Eli Brown. She was a member of the Chaplin Baptist Church and the Nelson County Retired Teachers Association.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Hardin; and three brothers, Claude Brown, C.B. Brown and Garland Brown.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances Ann (George) Coleman of Louisville; one sister, Josephine Graham of Lexington; two grandsons, Joseph (Rachel) Coleman and David (Kelli) Coleman; and one great-granddaughter, Lucille Coleman.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the Chaplin Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Fugitt officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the Chaplin Baptist Church.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to the Chaplin Baptist Church.
The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
