County firefighters respond for fire in area of Paschal Ballard Road

Friday, July 17, 2015, 1 a.m. — The Nelson County Fire Department was dispatched Thursday evening for a reported fire in the area of Paschal Ballard Road and Balltown Road. The fire department was paged at 7:10 p.m. after someone called to report heavy black smoke in the area. Firefighters responded to and found an illegal burn pile on Paschal Ballard Lane. Firefighters extinguished the fire and left the scene at 8:09 p.m.
