Obituary: Mildred Maxine Ward Melvin, 96, Lebanon

Mildred Maxine Ward Melvin, 96, of Lebanon, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at her residence. She was born June 7, 1919, in Leavenworth County, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Melvin (married in 1948); her parents, Ola P. and Lola E. Ward; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Larry LaMar; one brother, Parker B. Ward; her sister-in-law, Elsie Perisnio; and one brother-in-law, Frank Perisino.

Survivors include one daughter, Janice (Bob) Powers of Lebanon; one son, James (Rebecca) Melvin of Chicago; seven grandchildren, Robert Powers, Kevin Powers, Steven (Brandi) Powers, Stephanie (Joey) Lee, Jeff (Coty) Melvin, Jennie (Shane) Fry and Arianna Rangel. Also surviving are Angela Melvin and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Bosley Funeral Home with burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the funeral home.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of the arrangements.
