County firefighters respond for hay bales on fire in Cox’s Creek area

Sunday, July 19, 2015, 5:30 p.m. — The Nelson County Fire Department responded Sunday afternoon newfirelogofor hay bales on fire at a farm in the 1700 block of Mobley Mill Road in Cox’s Creek. Firefighters were dispatched at 1:07 p.m. for a fire involving approximately 15 round hay bales. The condition of the roads leading to the burning hay was a concern initially, but the incident commander who arrived first at the farm reported there was a solid road all the way back to the area firefighters needed to access. Firefighters were on the scene for about 90 minutes extinguishing the fire.
