LOUIS B. “LOUIE” BECKMANN JR.
Louis B. “Louie” Beckmann Jr., 70, of Bardstown, returned to his Heavenly Father Monday, July 20, 2015, after a long battle with a respiratory illness. He was a Navy veteran and a retiree of Carbide Industries. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish. He was a great story teller which he loved to share with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis B. Beckmann Sr.; his mother, Virginia French; and one sister, Diane Prather.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Donna (Bishop) Beckmann; one daughter, Karey Hankins (Joe); one sister, Pat Gallagher; two brothers, Don Beckmann and Mike Beckmann (Patty); three grandchildren, Abby Shelton (Jake), Michael Hankins and Katie Hankins; one great-grandson, Jase Shelton; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2015, in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home on Preston Highway at Brooks Road (use John Harper entrance). Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the funeral home.
