Obituary: Francis Theodore ‘Pete’ Boone Jr., 94, Bardstown

Francis Theodore “Pete” Boone Jr., 94, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born on Oct. 1, 1920 in Balltown to the late Francis T. Sr. & Sadie Florence Clements Boone. He was a retired employee of General Electric and also farmed and worked as a funeral_angelcarpenter. As an Army veteran of World War II he came home on the SS Bardstown Victory Ship.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Geraldine Sallengs; three sons, Francis T. “Buck” Boone III, Mike Boone and an infant son; and one a brother, J. R. Boone.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Wanda Myrna Bryan Boone; two daughters, Cheryl Jackson and Bonnie McDoanld, both of Bardstown; five sons, Tommy Boone of Louisville, Leroy Boone, Eddie Greenwell and Robert “Freddy” Boone, all of Bardstown and Joey Greenwell of Culvertown; one sister, Edna Cassity of Bardstown; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. The Rev. Karl Lusk will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015, and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
