Sunday, July 26, 2015 — Bardstown Mayor John Royalty’s office announced recently plans to spray the city for mosquitoes on Wednesday this week if weather permits.
According to a media release from City Hall, the first round of the city’s new Mosquito Spraying Program is set to begin at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday. If weather cancels the spraying, the program will take place on Thursday.
The City of Bardstown purchased its own spraying equipment to implement its a mosquito control program after the Kentucky Department of Agriculture could not continue to come to Bardstown as in years past.
A second round of mosquito spraying will take place in three weeks, and a third round three weeks thereafter.
During fogging operations please keep children away from the fogging vehicle, park your vehicle off the street, go inside and remain indoors while the fogging vehicle is in your neighborhood.
The same spraying program will be repeated in the Spring of 2016.
