Obituary: Thomas Keating Urekew, 65, Boston
Thomas Keating Urekew, 65, of Boston, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, at his home. He was born April 11, 1950, in Northampton, Mass. to the late Charles and Kathleen (Keating) Urekew. He graduated from St. Michael High School in Northampton, Mass. in 1968. After high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968-70. He was a combat radio operator and served with the 7th Marine Division in Vietnam. He retired as a licensed Master Plumber. He enjoyed camping, fly fishing, and spending time with his family. His yearly reunion with Kilo 3/7 was an event he cherished. He was an active member of the Derby City Fly Fishers and Project Healing Waters. Semper Fi, Tom! Your spirit will live with us forever.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Charles Urekew, Jr.
Survivors include one daughter, Valerie; twins Scott Urekew of Southridge, Mass. and Kathleen (Dale) Goodlett of Bardstown; three sisters, Charleen (Thomas) McCaulley and Marleen Agritelley, both of Northampton, Mass., and Laureen Urekew, of Pittsburgh, N. H.; one brother, Robert (Linda) Urekew of Jeffersonville, Ind.; one granddaughter, Shauna of Bardstown; one grandson, Jonathan of Spencer, Mass.; and many relatives.
The funeral service was 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon.
