New Haven man faces charges after shots-fired incident on Valley View

Friday, July 31, 2015, 6:55 p.m. — A New Haven man was arrested Friday morning by Bardstown Police after an investigation into a shots fired complaint Thursday night in the 100 block of Valley View Drive in Bardstown.

arrested1Michael Allen Ballard, 22, was charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment for his role in the incident.

Bardstown Police were dispatched to the Valley View area after receiving a complaint of four shots being fired from a maroon Ford 500 driving in the area. Officers found spent shell casings in the area, and a witness helped identify Ballard as a suspect.

Ballard confessed to shooting a weapon in the area during an interview with police. Ballard said the incident was part of an ongoing domestic dispute.

He was arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail. He was charged with two counts of wanton endangerment because there were two people in the area when the weapon was fired.
