Donald L. Buzick, owner of Buzick Lumber, dies at age 84
Thursday, May 5, 2011, 12:05 p.m. — Donald L. Buzick, 84, of Bardstown, passed away Wednesday May 4, 2011, at Lincoln Homestead Golf Course in Springfield.
Buzick was born February 14, 1927, in Sidney, Ohio. He was owner and CEO of Buzick Lumber and Home Center, general contractor and owner Buzick Construction, Chamber of Commerce Small Business Man of the Year, a WW II Navy Veteran who served at Wake Island, former Board of Directors of Stephen Foster Drama Association, former Chairman and longtime director for the Board of Directors of Town and Country Bank, a St. Joe Prep graduate of 1945, former member of Bardstown Optimist Club, and member of Bardstown United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Buzick, who was age 2, in 1954; parents, Cliff and Olive Buzick; grandson, Anthony Elmore; and step-daughter, Jennifer Warner.
He is survived by his wife, Peggye Buzick; three daughters, Cathy Bresnahan, Susan Elmore, and Donna Blincoe; one son, Cliff Buzick; one sister, Shirley Guthrie all of Bardstown; 10 grandchildren, Alan Graham, Sean Graham, Jeff Elmore, Amy McGeehin, Donald Blincoe, Karl Blincoe, Chris Buzick, Laura Ganoe, Lincoln Buzick, and Leslee Buzick; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation if 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, 2-8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 1:30 p.m Sunday at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown.
His funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday May 8, 2011 at Bardstown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott C. Stith officiating. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.
