Obituary: Chelcey B. Smith Sr., 86, Lebanon Junction
Chelcey B. Smith Sr., 86, of Lebanon Junction, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at the VA Hospital in Louisville. He was a retired business owner and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the McNeil Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Bullitt County Rod and Gun Club, the American Legion, the VFW and the Kentucky League of Sportsmen. He was a Catholic by faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Lee Sr. and Cora Byers Smith; and one brother, Fred Lee “Junior” Smith.
Survivors include three sons, Chelcey B. Smith Jr., Gordon Smith and Shane Smith; three daughters, Pam Lake, Gayle Jones and Kim Magee; two sisters, Jackie Crowell and Jonetta Burch; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle, Chelcey III, Nicklas, Neal, Kristopher, Kenneth and Caleb; and 10 great-grandchildren, Dustin, Dylan, Dayton, Max , Zach, Cooper, Tucker, Harper, Hazel and Lily.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with burial in the Lebanon Junction City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with a Masonic service 6:30 p.m. Friday.
