Dorothy H. Medley, 87, of Loretto, died Aug. 6, 2015. She was born Jan. 30, 1928, in Loretto to the late F. L. and Edith Raley Hayden.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Raphael Ferriell (1947) and her second husband, Werner “Curley” Medley (1975); four sisters, Betty Sue Hicks, Mary E. Yates, Ruth Miles and infant Della Hayden; three brothers, Leslie Hayden, John Hayden and infant George Donald Hayden; one grandson, Matthew Strickland; and one stepgrandson, Jason Howell,
Survivors include two daughters, Bette Kaye Howell (Fred) of Elizabethtown and Julie Franklin (Brian) of Versailles; three sons, David Ferriell (Laura) of Loretto, Bishop William F. Medley of Owensboro and Phil Medley (Lynn) of Bardstown; three sisters, Fanny Nally, Joann Hamilton and Peggy Browning (Jim); two brothers, Fred Hayden (Linda) and Bobby Hayden (Joyce); 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, St. Francis with burial in the church cemetery. Bishop William F. Medley will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, 3-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2015 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a 7 p.m. Monday prayer service by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
