County fire responds to vehicle fire Thursday on Woodlawn Road

Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, 1 a.m. — The Nelson County Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in the 2100 block of Woodlawn Road Thursday afternoon. While police were working a non-injury accident near American Drive, one of the cars began smoking. The fire department was dispatched at 6:28 p.m. When firefighters arrived, the fire had engulfed the engine compartment and was spreading to the passenger compartment. Firefighters extinguished the fire and were on the scene for about 45 minutes.
