Obituary: Martha Nell Dant, 83, Lebanon
Martha Nell Dant, 83, of Lebanon, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She was born May 15, 1932, in St. Francis. She formerly worked for the Marion County School District as a teacher’s aide and as a driver’s assistant on the special needs bus. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Ray Dant; her parents, William Earl and Mary Mabel “Mae” Mattingly Miles; six brothers, James Woodrow Miles, William Eric Miles, Charles Timothy Miles, Thomas B. Miles, J.E. Miles and Stanley Miles.
Survivors include four daughters, Debbie Dant of Lebanon, Cindy Gulley (Jimmy) of Calvary, Lesley Lee (Dan) and Sarah Fister (Ken), both of Lexington; two sons, Deacon Joe Dant (Linda) of Lebanon and Terry Dant of Louisville; one sister, Doris Ann Phenis of South Dakota; four brothers, Alo Miles of Lebanon, Ardine Miles of Mount Washington, and Joe Miles and Ronnie Miles, both of Saint Francis; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. by her son.
Pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons, Jimmy Gulley, Jr., Daniel Lee, Tyler Lee, Ian Lee, Brandon Fister, Adrian Bard and Alex Bard. Honorary Pallbearers are grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Janice Dant, Alicia Hoeck, Suzanne Mays, Bobby Mays, Jr., Brandi Humphrey, Chloe Lee, Claire Lee, Rachel Fister, Joelle Hoeck, Miles Hoeck and Silas Lee.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
