Obituary: Joe K. Mudd, 69, Bardstown
Joe K. Mudd, 69, of Bardstown, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was born March 19, 1946, in Lebanon. He was a retired truck driver and painter, and a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church where he was highly active with church choir and other activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Regina Mudd; his stepmother, Catherine Brady Mudd; one sister, Betty Sue Young; one brother, Pat “C.P.” Mudd; one stepbrother, Randy Brady; and one son-in-law, Joey Lyvers.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Platt Mudd; four daughters, Carolyn (Randy) Welch, Sandy Lyvers, Deborah (Mike) Riley, and Mary Jo (Terry) Nally, all of Bardstown; one brother, Terry Mudd of Bardstown; his mother-in-law, Lucetta Platt; one stepsister, Connie Osborne of Lebanon; three stepbrothers, Bobby Brady and Tommy Brady, both of Springfield and Dale Brady of Somerset; two sisters-in-law, Jill (John Ed) Clements and Susan (Bobby) Hamilton; three brothers-in-law, Tommy Young, Ray (Margaret) Platt, and Ron (Judy) Platt; and eight grandchildren, Lauren Welch, Morgan Welch, Quinton Lyvers, Zachary Lyvers, Hannah Mudd, Michael Riley, Matthew Riley, and Caleb Nally, all of Bardstown.
The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery with the Rev. Paul Eve officiating.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, and 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home. A prayer service is 7 p.m. Friday.
Memorial contributions may go to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, “Team Pootie Power”.
