Obituary: David Allen Blair, 67, New Hope

David Allen Blair, 67, of New Hope, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was a native of Nelson County, a retired employee of General Electric, and a Vietnam-era veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a medic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William John and Margaret Helen Blair; two sisters, Lucille Hambrick and Janice Culver; and one brother, Mike Blair.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Mattingly Blair; one daughter, Sherry Lynn Blair; two sons, William Troy and Gregory Allan Blair; one sister, Bonnie Jean Mouser (Dennis); four brothers, John (Bonnie Sue) Blair, Ralph (Barbara) Blair, Jeff (Peggy) Blair and Tommy (Debbie) Blair; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven with creation to follow.

Visitation is 2-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015, at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to the family or the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Greenwell Funeral Home, 324 Center St., New Haven, is in charge of arrangements.
