Obituary: Grace Brown Lyon, 98, Loretto
Grace Brown Lyon, 98, of Loretto, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, at The Village of Lebanon. She was born Jan. 11, 1917, in New Hope to Thomas Edward and Lillian Reid Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, William Henry Lyon; two sisters, Sr. Agnes Mary Brown, SCN and Nancy Bowling; and two brothers, the Rev. Robert A. Brown and Gerald Brown.
Survivors include three daughters, Lillian Gunst (Art) and Betty Lyon, both of Louisville and Theresa Carrico (Thomas) of Lebanon; two sons, Bill Lyon (Nancy) and Bobby Lyon (Patsy), all of Loretto; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, St. Francis. Burial is in the church cemetery. The Rev. Emil Kander will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayers service at 7 p.m. by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church, P.O. Box 74, Loretto, KY 40037.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
