Nelson Circuit Court Indictments–May 4, 2011

Editor’s Note: The indictment of a person by a grand jury or otherwise is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following people were indicted by a Nelson County grand jury on Wednesday, May 4, 2011. They are set for arraignment in Nelson Circuit Court on May 19, 2011 unless otherwise indicated.

11-CR-059 (amended). Jackie Edward Allen III, 30, Bardstown, persistent felony offender, second-degree.

11-CR-129. Jackie Edward Allen III, 30, Bardstown, cultivating marijuana, 5 or more plants; possession of drug paraphernalia; resistant felony offender, second-degree. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-130. Stephanie A. Fields, 41, New Haven, possession of a forged instrument and complicity to same (24 counts); theft by deception, $500 or more and complicity to same.

According to the indictment, during March 2011, Fields, acting alone or in concert with Daniel Marshall, allegedly possessed 24 forged checks totaling $1,501.21 and passed them at a variety of businesses in Nelson County knowing they would not be honored by Kentucky Home Bank. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-131. Jason R. Stansbury, 29, first-degree possession of controlled substances; tampering with physical evidence; possession of drug paraphernalia; failure to or improper signal; persistent felony offender, first-degree. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-132. Daniel L. Marshall, 34, New Haven, possession of a forged instrument and complicity to same (24 counts); theft by deception and complicity to same; persistent felony offender, second-degree.

According to the indictment, during March 2011, Marshall, acting alone or in concert with Stephane A. Fields, possessed 24 forged checks totaling $1,501.21 and passed them at a variety of businesses in Nelson County knowing they would not be honored by Kentucky Home Bank. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-134. Anthony Guy Tonge, 29, Barstown, first-degree trafficking in controlled substances; fleeing and evading police (on foot), first-degree; tampering with physical evidence; resisting arrest; persistent felony offender, first-degree.

According to the indictment, on April 24, 2011, Tonge allegedly was in possession of  cocaine with the intent of transferring or selling it. When confronted by police, Tonge allegedly fled on foot. He was charged with promoting contraband after hiding a plastic bag of cocaine in his crotch area that was discovered once he was arrested and taken to the Nelson County Jail. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-136. Margaret Johnson-Bowman, 48, Bardstown, first-degree possession of controlled substance; tampering with physical evidence; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the indictment on April 1, 2011, Johnson-Bowman allegedly had cocaine and marijuana in her possession. When confronted by police, Johnson-Bowman allegedly hid the cocaine in the sofa. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-137. William B. Colvin, 56, Chaplin, first-degree possession of controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of prescription not in a proper container; improper registration plates.

According to the indictment, on April 27, 2011, Colving was allegedly found in possession of cocaine and a prescription medicine not in the proper container.  Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-139. Kenneth A. Brooks, 39, Indianapolis, Ind., flagrant non-support.

According to the indictment, Brooks allegedly failed to provide support which he was ordered to pay, resulting in an arrearage of $2,621.84. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.
