Obituary: Jack Reginald Allen Sr., 82, Bardstown
Jack Reginald Allen Sr., 82, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was born Nov. 22, 1932, in Bardstown. He was a retired agency manager for Kentucky Farm Bureau for 51 years. He officiated and refereed for many sports. He was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Scott Allen; his parents, Dewey and Edith Greer Allen; two sisters, Peggy Allen Schooler, and Elaine Allen Stephens; and three brothers, Herbert Allen, Clifton E. “C.E.” Allen, and Dewey Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Gay Ferrill Allen of Bardstown; two daughters, Ramona Allen of Bardstown, and Robin (Mark) Thompson of Louisville; one son, Jack R. “Jay” (Lisa) Allen Jr.; one brother, Fred Allen of Bardstown; one sister, Nancy Jo O’Bryan of Corbin; five grandchildren, Lori Allen, Jessica Thompson, Jack “Trey” Allen III, Grant Thompson, and Patrick Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Bardstown Cemetery with Dr. James Carroll and the Rev. Eddie Benton officiating.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, and 9-11 a.m. Friday Aug. 21, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may go to Parkway Baptist Church Youth Summer Camp Fund “Serve-4-Camp”.
