Obituary: Mary Wakefield Conway, 91, Chaplin
Mary Wakefield Conway, 91, of Chaplin, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at Jefferson Manor Nursing and Rehab in Louisville. She was the former Mary Wakefield Thomas. She was born March 8, 1924, in Nelson County to the late Garrett and Nannie Sparrow Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of the former Chaplin Fork Baptist Church.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Conway; three sisters, Helen Terrell, Irene Terrell and Pauline Giles; and three brothers, Woodrow, Arthur, and Gilbert Thomas.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet (Murray “Butch”) Turner of Louisville; one son, Gary Conway of Bloomfield; one sister, Shirley Colvin of Chaplin; three grandchildren, Tammy (Scott) Langley, Christie Kreimborg and Casey Conway; seven great-grandchildren, Payton Conway, Cash Conway, Reese Kreimborg, Mason Kreimborg, Preston Langley, Blake Langley and Hunter Langley; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Austyn Langley and Bryce Langley.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Calvin Runner officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery at Chaplin.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
