Radio club meeting to discuss Bourbon Festival, communications drill

Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015 — The Bardstown-based Kentucky Amateur Radio Society (KARS) will hold its next meeting 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14 and Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at the main Nelson County EMS Station 1 on Buchanan 
Boulevard off Bloomfield Road. All amateur radio operators and anyone interested in learning about amateur radio is encouraged to attend.The topic for these meeting will be a discussion of the lessons learned while operating the Bourbon Festival Special Event station and preparations for the nationwide Simulated Emergency Test (SET) on the 4-5 October weekend.
All amateur radio operators and anyone interested in learning about amateur radio is encouraged to attend. KARS conducts a general interest net on the Bardstown 2m repeater (frequency: 145.470, PL 151.4) each Sunday evening at 9pm local time. KARS has moved the Weather Training Net to Wednesday evening at 8:30pm local time on the same repeater. Licensed amateurs are encouraged to call in to both nets.
