Citizen complaint to police leads to search warrant, drug trafficking arrest

Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, 11:55 a.m. — A Bardstown man was arrested Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 on drug charges following a search of a Bloomfield Road home by Bardstown Police officers and Nelson County Sheriff’s Office.

Acting on a citizen complaint of trafficking synthetic drugs, police executed a search warrant Saturday at a residence at 1125 Bloomfield Road. The search warrant turned up the synthetic drug “spice,” a small amount of marijuana, $920 in cash, a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun and ammunition, digital scales, cell phones, drug paraphernalia and a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck.

Michael T. Greathouse, 22, was arrested on charges of trafficking synthetic drugs; possession of synthetic drugs; possession of marijuana; convicted felon possessing a handgun; concealing a deadly weapon; possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.

The investigation was the result of citizens taking a stand and reported suspicious activity to police. A press release stated the city police follow up on complaints in an effort to address criminal activity.
