Obituary: Charles Ray Murphy, 87, Bardstown

CHARLES RAY MURPHY

Charles Ray Murphy, 87, of Bardstown, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was retired from Naval Ordnance in Louisville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha K. Murphy; and an infant son, Charles Hubert Murphy.

He is survived by three daughters, Audrey Yates of Warner Robins, Ga., Arlene Durbin of Bardstown and Nina Barnes of Versailles; four grandchildren, Stephen Travis Yates, Felicia Durbin Geron, Kimberly Yates Dykes, and Danielle Durbin Hill; and four great-grandchildren, Catherine Elizabeth Yates, Abigail Yates, Alivia Geron, and Ashton Murphy Geron.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Scott C. Stith will officiate.

Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may go to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
