Obituary: Alice Marie Brothers Boone, 80, Bardstown
Alice Marie Brothers Boone, 80, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at her home. She was the former Alice Marie Wheatley. She was born Oct. 7, 1934, in Washington County to the late Joseph Orville and Alma Josephine Hayes Wheatley. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Namon Lee Brothers; her second husband, Luel Anthony Boone; one sister, Mary Louise Dugan; three brothers, Joseph Victor “Joe” Wheatley, Louis Harold Wheatley, and Charles Marcus Wheatley; and one grandson, David Travis Daugherty; and one stepgrandson, Andrew Lee Reynolds.
She is survived by four daughters, Christine Marie (Larry) Daugherty of Boston, Virginia Anne (Tommy) Porter of Elizabethtown, Mary Louise (Timmy) Hatfield and Elizabeth Sue (Tim) Crowe, both of Bardstown; four sons, David Anthony (Jennifer) Brothers, Kerence “Kerry” Lee (Ann) Brothers, John Stephen (Vicky) Brothers and Andrew Mark (Jan) Brothers, all of Bardstown; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She is also survived by six stepdaughters, Sharon Filiatreau and Linda Kelly, both of Bardstown, Joan McClaskey of Cox’s Creek, Joyce Boone of Louisville, Maureen Bell of Shepherdsville, and GeGe Boone of Independence; one step-son, Jerry Boone of Bardstown; 15 stepgrandchildren; 29 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Eve officiating. Burial is in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road with a 7 p.m. prayer service by Deacon Joe Livers.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions for Masses.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
