THOMAS DONALD “DONNIE” MEDLEY

Thomas Donald “Donnie” Medley, 72, of Loretto, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at his residence. He was born Oct. 5, 1942, in Washington County. He was a retired employee of General Electric in Louisville and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Juanita Brady Medley; and one brother, Wayne Medley.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Joyce Medley; one daughter, Rhonda Livers (Bernie) of Nashville, Tenn.; one son, Brian Keith Medley (Regina) of Raywick; two sisters, Brenda Pickett of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Molly Anderson of Versailles; one brother, Steve Medley of Lexington; one aunt, Barbara Thompson of Raywick; and five grandchildren, Dillon Livers, Sam Livers, Emma Livers, Eli Medley and Jake Medley.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, St. Francis. Burial is in the church cemetery. The Rev. Emil Kander will preside.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a 7 p.m. prayer service by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Memorial donations may go to Friends Committee on National Legislation, 245 Second St., NE, Washington DC 20002, a lobbying group for public policy that can make a difference in the lives of Native American youth.

Pallbearers are Dillon Livers, Sam Livers, David Hill, Justin Hill, Mervin Smith, Billy Hamilton, James Thompson, Billy Nally, Eli Medley, Jake Medley and Emma Livers.

Honorary pallbearers are Bill Blair, Derek Smith, John Michael Medley, Adam Medley, Joe Mack Thompson, Barry Brady and Fred and Claudia Smith.

The Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
