Final downtown, city-county cleanups are set for this weekend

Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015 — Nelson County is a beautiful place to live and visit. Keeping it that way requires that we all pitch in to keep our roads, sidewalks, and open spaces litter-free. You are warmly invited to join the Summer Community Development Corps this weekend for the final 2015 community cleanup.
The cleanup for Downtown Bardstown is 8:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, while the countywide cleanup is all-day Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015.
The Summer Community Development Corps welcomes participation from individuals, families & groups! On Saturday, participants can meet downtown at the Welcome Center for doughnuts and the cleanup will begin at 9 a.m.
Trash bags and safety vests will be provided, as well as suggested cleanup sites for those walking or driving.
The Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Collection Contest and prizes following the cleanup. Participants are invited for a lunch provided by The Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 211 N. Third St.
