Coroner: Bardstown man’s early morning drowning was accidental

Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, 4 p.m. — The Nelson County Coroner’s office had determined that the drowning death of 24-year-old DavVon Patric Dorsey of Bardstown was accidental. The incident happened early Friday morning in a pond located hear his workplace, Mitsuba of Bardstown, 901 Withrow Court.
At 12:48 Friday morning, Bardstown Police responded to a call from witnesses who saw Dorsey leave the building and enter a pond behind the building. Police were unable to locate the Dorsey and requested the Bardstown Fire Department to assist with the search. After a search by first-responders, the victim was located. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Nelson County Coroner. Nelson County EMS and Nelson County Emergency Management also responded to the scene. First-responders were on the scene until about 5 a.m.
