Bardstown man arrested after assaulting EMT who was treating him

Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, 9 a.m. — A Bardstown man was arrested early Friday morning after he assaulted an EMT who was treating him.

Kevin Derek Osborne, 29, was charged with third-degree assault after he became violent with a Nelson County EMS employee. According to police, Osborne slapped the EMT who was treating him.

EMS was transporting Osborne after he was found having seizure-like activity in an alley near Mammy’s Kitchen in downtown Bardstown. Police say that after Osborne slapped the EMT, he grabbed her wrist and attempted to twist it. The EMT broke free and Osborne began cursing and striking the interior of the ambulance. After Osborne was treated and medically cleared at Flaget Memorial Hospital, he was arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
