Obituary: Roger Clayton Hood, 65, formerly of Nelson County

Roger Clayton Hood, 65, of Louisville formerly of Nelson County, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, as the result of injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident on KY 48 in Nelson County. He was born Sept. 22, 1949, in Nelson County to the late Julian “Pickett” and Betty Drake Hood. He was a funeral_lilyretired employee of General Electric, an Army Veteran and a member of the Golden Retriever Rescue Association for Needy Dogs (GRRAND).

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Hood and Ronnie Hood.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Buckler Hood; two sisters, Sharon (Phillip) Radcliffe of Louisville and Lisa Livers of Bardstown; one brother, David (Ann) Hood of Bloomfield; his mother-in-law, Bettye Hitch of Ewing; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Jim Hitt officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at the funeral home.
