Obituary: Nora Ann Spalding Smith, 100, formerly of Howardstown

Nora Ann Spalding Smith, 100, of Louisville, formerly of Howardstown, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2015, at Mercy Sacred Heart Home in Louisville. She was born in Howardstown to the late Jessie and Nannie Richardson Spalding. She was a retired school teacher from the Jefferson County Public School System with 36 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. “Red” Smith; five sisters; and six brothers.

Survivors include several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, in the Chapel at Mercy Sacred Heart Home, 2120 Payne St., Louisville, with the Rev. Joseph A. Lyon celebrating. Burial is 1:30 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery in Howardstown.

Visitation is 9:30-10 a.m. Friday at the Chapel at Mercy Sacred Heart Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to St. Ann Catholic Church in Howardstown.
