Bardstown firefighters extinguish fires apparently set by teens

Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, 10 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was busy Wednesday night after a pair of teenagers appear to have intentionally set two fires in the Maple Hill area.
Firefighters were dispatched at 9:28 p.m. to the city pool parking lot off West Broadway for a report that two juveniles who were believed to have poured a liquid on the ground and set it ablaze. Firefighters arrived to find what appeared to be leaves burning on the ground. The two juveniles fled the area as firefighters were arriving.
While firefighters were at the city pool parking lot, a resident in the 100 block of Barton Road reported that fires had been set in two dumpsters behind the apartment building there. Firefighters responded to Barton Road and extinguished the dumpster fires.
Police were looking for the teens, one of which was described as wearing a white shirt and had blondish hair, while the second was wearing a gray shirt and had visible tattoos on his arms.
