Obituary: Marshall Elliot Ivory Ashford-Taylor, 21, Flower Mound, Texas

Marshall Elliot Ivory Ashford-Taylor, 21, of Flower Mound, Texas, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015. He was born to Vivian T. Ashford and Ivory L. Taylor on October 17, 1993 at Ireland Army Community Hospital at Fort Knox.

funeral_angelWhen he was young the family moved Flower Mound, Texas, where he began his education in the Lewisville, Texas school system, he began to grow into the fun-loving, happy, yet mischievous child family and friends remember. He participated in several sports throughout his elementary, middle school and high school years through YMCA and the public school system, including basketball, football, soccer, swimming and wrestling. He also became involved with the Flower Mound community theater, presenting his talents in several plays. He was a member of The Potter’s House Church of Dallas pastored by Bishop T.D. Jakes. He was an employee of Wendy’s in Flower Mound.

Survivors include his loving parents, Vivian T. Ashford and Ivory L. Taylor; one brother, Jason (Timberly) Taylor of Fort Stewart, Ga.; his maternal grandmother, Flora Ashford of Bardstown; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephew, cousins and friends.

Services in Texas were held Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home Chapel in Lewisville, Texas.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at St. John A.M.E. Zion Church with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. The Rev. Roscoe Linton will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, and 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Barlow Funeral Home.

Local arrangements are by the Barlow Funeral Home.
