ANTHONY “JERRY” THOMPSON

Anthony “Jerry” Thompson, 76, of Raywick, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at home in the caring hands of his loving family. He was born May 30, 1939, in Raywick. He worked at Square D Company in Lexington for 37 years and was a farmer all his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved faith, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Thompson; his mother, Mildred Thompson; one sister, Aileen Thompson Spalding; one brother, Mathew Thompson; two sisters-in-law, Frances Blandford (Marion) and Cecelia Mattingly (Roy); five brothers-in-law, Albert Smith, Ed Thompson, Bill Thompson, Bert Thompson and Joe DeNardi ; one granddaughter, Andrea Jo Thompson; and one daughter-in-law, Missy Thompson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years and 11 months, Margaret Thompson; three daughters, Anita Riddle (Greg) of Columbia, Franki Reisinger (John) of Loretto and Cathy Gregory (Lew) of Campbellsville; four sons, Steven Thompson and Bobby Thompson (Debbie), both of Lebanon, Rick Thompson (Ann) and Jimmy Thompson (Amy). both of Springfield; two sisters, Angela Meyerhoffer (Marvin) of Louisville and Kathleen Donahue (Jim) of Springfield; three brothers, Donald Thompson (Marty) of Louisville, Ed Thompson (Susie) and Edwin Thompson (Margaret Mary) all of Springfield; five sisters-in-law, Gracie Thompson of Lexington; Itty Thompson and Bertha Bell Thompson, both of Loretto, Geneva Thompson of Cox’s Creek and Aline DeNardi of Idaho; two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Spalding of Springfield and Gerald Thompson (Martha) of Saint Mary’s; 22 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 108 Main Street, Raywick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. His nephew, The Very Rev. J. Mark Spalding and The Rev. James W. Graf will concelebrate.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 20115, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Expressions of sympathies may be made to Masses or Hosparus of Central Kentucky, 295 Campbellsville Bypass, Campbellsville, KY 42718.

Pallbearers are Lonnie J Hourigan , Cody Thompson, Tyler Thompson, B.J. Thompson, Dillain Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Derek Thompson, Junior Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers are Jeanie Riddle, Leslie Cornelison, Kyle Riddle, Ashley Wright, Rebecca Turner, Nicole Thompson, Megan Thompson , Chris Gibson, Brooke Gregory, Sydney Reisinger, Landon Carrico, Elly Carrico and Shane Thompson.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
