Obituary: Joseph Graves Miles, 71, of Louisville

Joseph Graves Miles, 71, of Louisville, died Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at Jewish Hospital. He was born Nov. 24, 1943, in Loretto. He was a former employee of Sugar Creek Creamery in Louisville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leon and Mary Josephine Hornback Miles; one sister, Rita Faye Graham; and four brothers, Leon Miles, Melvin Miles, Sammy Miles and Tommy Miles.

Survivors include two sisters, Deverial Livers (Lambert) of Lebanon and Darlene O’Bryan (Tommy) of Shepherdsville; five brothers, Johnny Miles (Diane) and Gordie Miles, both of Louisville, Marion Miles (Edith) of St. Francis, Bernard Miles (Rosalind) of Lebanon and Danny Miles (Jessica) of New Haven; and two sisters-in-law, Janice Miles of Loretto and Judy Downs Miles of St. Francis.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, St. Francis with the Rev. Emil Kander officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 p.m. by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Pallbearers were Keith Richardson, Charlie Matt Richardson, Walter Livers, Jimmy Livers, Dillion Mattingly, Chris Livers.

The Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
