JOSEPH ALFRED MATTINGLY

Joseph Alfred Mattingly, 80, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born June 28, 1935, in Nelson County to the late Thomas William and Mary Lillie Downs Mattingly. He was an employee of Heaven Hill Distillery for 15 years, a former employee of Buzick Construction and My Old Kentucky Home State Park. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Catherine Mattingly and his brother, William Paul Mattingly, both of Bardstown.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Ben Brown officiating. Burial is in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to Masses.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
