Three arrested after police investigation of Sunday thefts from vehicles

Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015 — Three Bardstown men were arrested Wednesday on drug and theft charges following a police investigation of thefts from vehicles in the Springhill subdivision and Parkview Drive areas on Sunday, Oct. 11.

On Wednesday, Bardstown Police located the vehicle believed to be involved in the thefts at 116 Barberry Lane. Inside the home, Evan James Lyons, 21, of Bardstown, admitted to police he had been “car hopping” while searching for change because he was hungry. Police found suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the room where Lyons was found.

Homeowner Douglas Patrick Adams, 33, admitted ownership of the other methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia located in the home, including a syringe. A third individual in the home, Michael Dean Milburn, 20, who was holding a six-month-old child, was drinking whiskey in front of police and smelled of burned marijuana.

The three men were placed under arrested by police, and child protective services were called the home. The child was returned to his mother, who did not live at that address.

Evan Lyons was charged with theft by unlawful taking contents from vehicles and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Douglas P. Adams was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Michael Dean Milburn was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a minor.

All three were lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
