Obituary: Offus Reed Boblitt, 85, Bardstown
Offus Reed Boblitt, 85, of Bardstown, formerly of Willisburg, died at 8:32 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at the Life Care Center in Bardstown. He was a native of Washington County, born Sept. 16, 1930, to the late William and Cornelia Scruggs Boblitt. He was a member of the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy and a retired farmer.
Preceding him in death were three sisters, Ruby Frances Boblitt, Willa Mae Lewis and Hazel Marie Marks; and one brother, Chester Boblitt.
Survivors include, his wife, Goldie Long Boblitt; three sons, Ronnie Boblitt of Mount Washington, Clinton Boblitt (Gayle) of Willisburg and Glen Boblitt (Denice) of Bardstown; one sister, Mary Louise Burgin of Louisville; one brother, Cletus W. Boblitt (Betty) of Bardstown; five grandchildren, Tammy Smallwood, Angela Boblitt, Andy Boblitt, Selena Boblitt and Carrie Durbin; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, at the Willisburg Church Of God Of Prophecy with the Rev. Earl Hazel officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Keith Creech. Burial is in the Brush Grove Cemetery at Willisburg.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Boblett, Bradley Boblitt, Daylon Allen, Richard Allen and Ron Smallwood.
The Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
