Obituary: Dorothy Louise Philpott, 90, Bloomfield

Dorothy Louise Philpott, 90, of Bloomfield, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, in Signature Health Care in Taylorsville. She was the former Dorothy Louise Hornback and was born May 5, 1925, in LaRue County to the late Elzie and Jo Robinson Hornback. She was a homemaker, a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, and attended Bloomfield Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curt Philpott; one daughter, Anna Mae Philpott; two sisters; and one brother.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Catherine (Gary) Jewell of Bloomfield; one brother, Charles Thomas Hornback of Buffalo; three stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and a special stepgreat-grandson, Landon.

The funeral is 11 .am. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Leland Parks officiating. Burial is in the Oak Hill Cemetery in LaRue County.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2015, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
