Obituary: William ‘Bill’ Brown, 81, Chaplin

William “Bill” Brown, 81, of Chaplin, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Bluegrass Assisted Living. He was born Nov. 6, 1933, in Nelson County. He was retired from Heaven Hill Distillery and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Bloomfield Masonic Lodge # 57, and Chaplin Baptist Church.

funeral_lilyHe was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Ethel Brown; two sisters, Irene Richardson and Pauline Downs; and four brothers, Rufus Brown, Wallace Brown, Herbert Brown, and LeRoy Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Coulter Brown of Chaplin; two daughters, Sandra (Ross) Woodbury of Elizabeth, Ind., and Sharon Harris (Sam) Shults of Campbellsville; one son, David Allen (Rachel) Brown of Bardstown; one sister, Virginia Brown Coulter of Springfield; six grandchildren, Christopher Woodbury, Matthew Woodbury, Bradley (Keely) Harris; Brooklyn Harris, Madi Brown, and Riley Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the Highview Cemetery in Chaplin. Bro. Larry Baker and Bro. Mike Thompson will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, and 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at the funeral home. A Masonic service is 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may go to Chaplin Baptist Church Building Fund.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
