Monday, May 9, 2011, 2:15 p.m. — With the primary election a week away, Republican gubernatorial hopeful Senate President David Williams and his running mate, Ag Commissioner Richie Farmer, are planning to bring their “Lead, Follow or Get Out of the Way” campaign tour to downtown Bardstown on Wednesday, May 11 at 3 p.m.

The pair will be visiting the Bardstown Farmer’s Market on East Flaget Avenue and downtown Bardstown.

Williams and Farmer have been criss-crossing the state –individually and as a duo — aboard their campaign bus in the last few weeks. Today, Farmer will appear at a Daviess County Lincoln Day Dinner; tomorrow, the pair will be visiting the west Kentucky communities of Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Hartford and Morgantown. Last week, the pair were traveling across Northern and northeastern Kentucky.

In the Republican primary, they face Louisville businessman Phil Moffett and running mate Rep. Mike Harmon of Danville, and Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw and running mate Bill Vermillion Jr. of Caneyville.

The primary election is Tuesday, May 17th.
